PUZZTRIX Instructions
PUZZTRIX brings to mind classical
games such as Puzznic or Brix.
The goal is simple: Eliminate all colored objects!
These are the rules:
1. All movable objects are under the force of gravity.
2. If two or more objects are adjacent to each other,
they "evaporate".
3. Movable bricks do not count as objects. Thus they do
not have to be eliminated, actually they cannot be eliminated.
The difficulty of the levels varies from "super easy"
to "hard". There is no time-limit.
Solutions can usually be found through logical analysis
of the problem. They can hardly ever be found by chance.
Controls
Use your left mouse-button to select an object. Hold it
down and move the mouse in the desired direction to move the selected
object. If you move an object over an empty space, it will fall down
until it hits another object, e.g. an elevator or a wall.
Attention: If you have moved an object onto an elevator
you can keep control of it by holding down the left mouse-button!
Level statistics
The "level statistics" in the bottom-left corner shows
you how many objects of a certain type still exist and thus how many
are still to be eliminated.
Level selection
There are two buttons next to the level number (top-left
corner) which allow you to choose another level to play. Use the
right mouse-button to raise (lower) the level number by 10.
Restart level
As the levels get more difficult you will often run into impossible
situations (for example if only one object of a certain type is left).
To restart the level in such situations, use the "Load"-button!
Solutions
Please do not despair if you do not find a solution to
a level and you get the feeling that it is impossible. We can assure
you, that all G4B-levels have a solution, that can be found through pure
logic reasoning (not by chance or quick reactions). Okay, we admit that
there are some stages that require quick reactions, but these cases are
definitely "doable"! Some problems can be solved through skillful timing
when throwing objects onto or next to elevators. These levels were not
built with that sort of solution in mind! It is worth the effort to look
for a different less-frustrating strategy.
System requirements
PUZZTRIX is a java-applet. It should therefore run on
all computers with java-capable browsers. The speed depends on the
hardware it is running on.
Installation
Since PUZZTRIX is a java-applet it has not got to be
installed. To start the applet online, simply click on the images
(top of the page) or here .
Loading the applet should take around 20 seconds with a 56k-modem!
